sitting in the ashram on the last day of the series. It pause for thought that the forces and influences which set the patterns of our childhood experience can have such profound effect upon our whole approach to life ... I vowed at a very young age, after particular trauma, that I wouldn't play anymore. I've had that as a curtain between me and the world ever since. It constantly needs brushing aside. The alternative is to become catatonic or at least autistic. So I make my work play as best I can, do it to the best of my ability, and go from there ... to where? ... it puts meaning in my life regardless.
Into the room and the silence strides a grey bearded swami. He sits, adjusts his robe, glances round the room and speaks.
' You may have been traumatised as a three year old. Are you going to let it affect your whole life? '
OO .. that's me I said.
The song came later in a beautiful and gentle way.
This isn't just my experience.
