apart from my own experience to trigger this lyric, the dominant image for me is of middle eastern women, whose grief and daily experience makes the behaviour of their leaders incomprehensible. Strange though it may be pictorially and difficult to explain rationally, I feel Hitler could sing this song before the assembled multitudes that he harmed if he could feel even the slightest brush of their pain. Perhaps this is the reality of Judgement Day.... understanding dawns and the truth is absorbed. I said it was difficult to explain. Odd mixture of images isn't it.
